Lassie class is meant for collies that cannot attend the official classes meaning they have a big fault against the breed standard. For example, missing testicles, prick ears or too much white etc. BOB lassie will be chosen in both the rough and smooth collies. The bitches and males compete in the same class. You have to register to the class beforehand. Even though this is an unofficial class all the vaccination and antidoping requirements must be followed.

Working collie class is meant for collies that have a result from a hobby, such as agility, obedience, rally-obedience, herding, nosework etc AND an Excellent grade from this collie specialty. The rough and smooth collies compete in their own classes, bitches and males compete however in the same class. You have to register to the class beforehand. Only those dogs that have received an excellent grade in the day's show will compete for the title of the best working collie. This means that the dogs won't be judged again but the best working collie will be chosen amongst those that have already been judged that day.

Dogs who have a confirmed champion title from a dog show (FI MVA or C.I.B.) or dog sport (for example RTVA, AVA) in 2023 may participate to the champion parade.

When you enter your dog to the show you agree to follow the valid dog show regulations of the Finnish Kennel Club, as well as the valid vaccination requirements. Read more about the show regulations from this document.

"From my early childhood on I always dreamed of having a dog on my own. Also I was always very interested in raising and breeding animals of all kind so when I was little I started with rabbits and chickens.   When my mother turned 50 she was granted her wish to have a Collie for herself and there came my chance. I helped to find her the collie of her dreams, which little did we know would later become the well known Multi Ch. Van-M Mercury The Biggest Star. He was my inspiration for so many things in life and I owe him a lot. A year later two bitches arrived who also came from Laura Van Embden's kennel near Philadelphia, the foundation of our kennel.   Every single dog we have in our kennel tracks back to these 3 dogs somehow. Together with my parents we established the Mc Leod's kennel in 2009, as we strived to build a kennel with mindfulness of the standard and the well being of

breed, we put all our passion and energy in it. Mercury didn't remain our only successful show and breeding dog. Through the years we bred and raised a lot of dogs who stayed in our kennel or won groups, BIS's, an English studbook number and champion titles in 21 different countries for their owners, so far.    For 12 years, I have been a member of the Swiss Collie Club board where I currently serve as vice president. Since 2012, I am also a member of the organization committee for the club's annual Specialty show. I gave lectures about the standard, grooming and handling and talked a lot about genetics. For educational purposes, I have travelled to Crufts and the national specialty in America and I've seen collies all over the world which are closely bred to the standard. I have really close relationships to breeders from all over the world including England.    For me it is not a question of the origin but a question of quality. I am looking for a sound dog in body, health and mind. I always loved to look at the dogs' construction and how this affects movement. There would be no greater joy for me to understand what a real Collie must look like in order to be a good specimen of the breed. Since I am a teacher I am also used to look at things with a neural eye.    My first judging assignment was a match show in America 5 years ago. I was also asked to judge junior handler competitions and judged them with big pleasure in Switzerland. While in 2018 I gave birth to the first of my two children, I also started with my judges education. In 2022 I was first confirmed as a judge in Switzerland and judged the first Specialty at the end of 2022. I really love to now finally be able and use all the knowledge that I've collected through the years, may it be in America, England or elsewhere in order to hopefully help shape the future of the Collie in a positive direction."

"My involvement with Rough Collies began when I was nine years old, when 'Shep' a sable and white puppy dog was purchased for me, following the death of my father. Shep paved the way for my lifelong love of our noble breed. Many years later, I saw a photo of Corydon Battlestar in the Our Dogs book. I thought he was the most stunning puppy I'd ever seen, sitting with a plant pot. I knew immediately that 'Corydon' was the kennel to go to for my type of collie. With much guidance and advice from my 'second mum' Barbara, John and Miranda Blake, my small kennel has produced UK, International, Irish, Irish Veteran and Hong Kong Champion Rough Collies, in addition to several UK CC and Reserve CC winners, multiple Best In Show, Reserve Best In Show, Best Veteran In Show and Reserve Best Veteran In Show breed club show winners, including the fabulous Ch. Demelewis Dark Moon Driftin Over Corydon JW. I purchased Corydon Be A Madam At Demelewis in 1998, having seen the UK's Breed Record Holder; Ch. Phreelancer Phrosty Moon Over Corydon as an 11 week old puppy. I handed Barbara a small coin, saying that

was my deposit for the first tricolour bitch he ever sired. Barbara never forgot, honoured my deposit and the rest, they say, is history. Garbo was the foundation of my kennel and every Demelewis collie goes back to her. Riff (Ch. Demelewis Dark Moon Driftin Over Corydon JW) is also credited as the present UK's Breed Record Holder for the Top Winning Tricolour, having won a staggering 13 CCs and 8 Res CCs for the Blakes. I've had the pleasure of meeting many of his show winning children, grandchildren and great grandchildren around the world, from Finland to Tasmania. He was a very special boy who certainly left his mark on the breed - my favourite of all his children was Percy (CIB Ch, NORDIC Ch, FI Ch, SE Ch, NO Ch, EE Ch. Corydon Catch Me Driftin). I cried when he left the UK, but had the opportunity to use him at stud and kept a tricolour girl. Five generations later, my youngest tricolour bitch; Demelewis Double Take, was sired by Corydon Riffson, Riff's last remaining son at the Corydon kennel. I have travelled throughout the UK and Europe judging Rough Collies and many other breeds within the Pastoral and Working Groups and I'm qualified to award CCs in both Rough and Smooth Collies. I feel extremely honoured to be invited to judge at this prestigious show in Finland and look forward to meeting you and your collies. Onnea näyttelyyn ja toivottavasti meillä on mahtava viikonloppu!"

"My first introduction to Collies (Roughs and Smooths) was when I first met my now husband Steve in 1975. When he first took me to his home to meet Stella & Les Clark, I was greeted by several beautiful Rough Collies. From that day onwards, I was totally drawn into the Collie World! Shortly afterwards, Stella then started introducing Smooth Collies into the fold and it was then a perfect scenario. Astrellita Collies soon became my world. It was not long before I was showing the Collies and then the wonderful CH Astrellita Silversmith, who I had the pleasure of owning and showing all over the UK with also winning BOB at Crufts in 1983, with his final crowning glory of his very last show, taking the title of Smooth Collie of The Year at 12.5 years old (Thank you, Stella & Les, – such a wonderful wedding present). My first love of the SmoothCollies. Over the years, I have judged Rough & Smooth Collies at Championship Show Level, with also judging Smooth Collies at Crufts 2006. I have also judged at Club Show Level (Border Collies, Bearded Collies, Shetland Sheepdogs and of course Rough & Smooth Collies) I have also judged outside of the UK in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland & Ukraine. I look forward to meeting you all and your wonderful collies at your show in July 2024."

"I had my first Rough Collie in 1967, a fantastic mahogany sable and white. He carried a white mane that almost came to the ground, something you seldom see today. I have bred some very nice CC winners for myself and others. In 1973 i completely fell in love with the Smooth Collie and went on to breed many champions including the fabulous Ch A Blue Movie (23 CC's BOB at Crufts twice), and the amazing Ch A The Silversmith, also a BOB Crufts winner. I first judged Rough Collies in 1971. I judged my first Ch Show in 1984 and since that time I have judged at 45 Championship shows in the UK including judging at CRUFTS three times. I have judged world wide as far away as South America, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and Russia and all of the Scandinavian countries and Europe. I have the pleasure of awarding CC's in the UK for Rough Collies, Smooth Collies, Bearded Collies, Border Collies, Shetland Sheepdogs and Great Danes. The most memorable day in my time as a judge was when in 2023 The British Collie Club of Gt Britain presented me with a lifetime achievement award."
